Suicidal Snowflakes

Just because I have a short attention span doesn\’t mean I…

TAKE THE SCISSORS OUT OF MY HANDS

I haven’t had a hair cut since… April. The split ends were making me crazy. I dont have the time, and I dont have the $$, so I did what any normal, sane person would do. I took my paper shears out of my desk and started hacking at my hair while I was on the phone with people. Perfectly sane. I swear.

  1. I also have crazy hair that grows like someone’s vindictive Chia Pet. As soon as I get it cut, it grows back, mocking me for wasting my money. If my hair was a person, we would not be friends. But I haven’t been so brave as to try and cut it myself because it’s far to curly. I’d end up looking Shirley Temple after an episode of binge drinking. =( Hair is bad.

  2. A few years ago I did that as well. Unfortunately I found myself in a mental hospital a few days later where they diagnosed me with trichotillomania because I thought it was a good idea to give myself a haircut. They were convinced there was a clear link between kind of behaviour and my recent suicide attempts. Go figure. You’re not depressed are you?

  3. Well, I haven’t tried to kill myself so far, but scroll down from this month and look at august’s archive. It’s been a rough month. Actually I think I did a rather good job of gettingn all the split ends. I have found a few more split ends in the back that I’m fighting the temptation to take care of right now. My hair is pretty wavy in the humidity (WILD) and it’s easy to hide oopsies with the scissors. I don’t know, it felt kinda good to cut it. Or maybe it’s a new nervous habit I’ve developed.

  4. Well, I’m not up on psychological stuff but I don’t see the harm in cutting your hair when you have split ends. It just seems like good grooming to me. Besides, we all have our like quirks. I absolutely have to cut my fingernails once they get longer than my fingertips. I have to; it’s a quirky obsession. However, I sure as hell am not going to be spending the money to go get a manicure when the little clippers are right at my desk. It’s just a thing. I doubt you’ll be committed for liking to trim your split ends.
